From Teenage Mom to Doctor — Proof That God Can Rewrite Any Story.

About Me

I was born and raised a country girl in Franklin, Kentucky — a place where resources were scarce, but the love of God and the love from my mother, Rose, were abundant. We didn’t have much, but we had faith, and that was more than enough to plant the seeds for the life I have today.

At just 15 years old, I became a mother. By all odds, my story could have stopped there. But God had other plans. Through His guidance, and with the steadfast support of my mother, I raised my son, crossed state lines in search of new beginnings, and built a life rooted in faith, perseverance, and purpose.

Along the way, I became a child protective services worker, earned my Ph.D. in Social Work, served as a professor at Rutgers University, became an ordained minister, authored books, advocated for the field of social work, and embraced the joy of being a wife.

Every step of my journey — from the dirt roads of Kentucky to the classrooms of higher education — has been shaped by God’s grace and a deep calling to serve others. Today, I use my life story, professional expertise, and ministry to help women shift their perspectives, strengthen their faith, and step boldly into the life God has for them.

I’m living proof that your starting point doesn’t define your finish line. And I believe your best chapters are still ahead. I know what it’s like to face impossible odds — and rise above them.

Today, I bring all of those life experiences, the victories, the lessons, and the faith that carried me — into my work as a Christian life coach. My calling is to help women shift their perspective, renew their mindset, and step boldly into the life God has written for them.

I believe your story isn’t over. In fact, the most powerful chapters may be the ones you haven’t lived yet.
